Thioglycolic acid — The sulphur smell is this ingredient, not a fault. It usually strengthens as the reaction runs, which is a cue to check your timer.

Sorbitol — Holds water in the paste so it stays damp for the full three minutes. A layer that dries out on the skin stops working.

Cetearyl alcohol and ceteareth-20 — Give the paste enough body to spread evenly. An uneven layer clears hair unevenly, which is what most patchy results come down to.

Urea and glycerin — Soften the hair shaft and keep the formula workable. Neither is present at a level that does anything for the skin afterwards.

One thing to know before you read the list: Calcium Hydroxide is printed twice and Paraffinum Liquidum is printed twice. That means you cannot read position as a guide to how much of anything is in here. We have asked the manufacturer for a corrected list.

1. Patch test 24 hours ahead on the inner forearm, even if you have used a depilatory before.
2. Wash and dry the area. Do not use it on skin you shaved or waxed in the last two days.
3. Spread the sachet in a thick, even layer over external skin only. Nothing goes on internal tissue.
4. Time three minutes, and check a small patch at two.
5. Wipe off with the spatula edge, then rinse with cool water. No soap on the first wash.
6. Leave it bare for a few hours. Deodorant, perfume, tight seams, hot water, chlorine and sun all sting more than usual for a day.

Is this a different formula from the 120gm tube?

The printed ingredient list is identical, word for word, so treat it as the same paste in a smaller pack. That is worth knowing, because it means the 20gm is not a milder version for delicate skin. What makes it suitable for intimate use is that you control the time and the area, not the chemistry.

Can I use it on the labia or inside the vulva?

No. No depilatory cream is made or tested for mucous membranes, and this one is no exception. It goes on the outer bikini line and the pubic mound — skin you could reasonably shave. If the paste can run somewhere, do not put it near there in the first place.

How much area does 20gm cover?

Roughly one bikini line, or two underarms, applied thickly enough to work. Applied thinly to stretch it further, it will not clear the hair and you will be tempted to leave it on longer, which is the thing that causes trouble. Buy the tube if you are doing legs.

It stings after about a minute. Should I carry on?

No. Warmth or slight tingling is normal; stinging, burning or heat that builds is not. Wipe it off with a dry tissue first, then rinse with cool water — rinsing alone spreads it. Do not use it again on that area, and do not assume a different scent will behave differently.

Can men use it on the groin?

Yes, with the same rules and one extra caution: groin and scrotal skin is thinner and moves, so the paste creases and sits unevenly. Patch test, apply on stretched skin, check early, and expect coarse hair to need a second session on another day rather than longer contact.

How soon can I shower hot, swim or use deodorant?

Give it a full day. Freshly depilated skin has had its top layer disturbed, so chlorine, fragrance, alcohol-based deodorant and hot water all sting more than they would otherwise. Lukewarm rinsing is fine straight away. Sun on the area is the one worth avoiding longest.

Will it darken the skin there?

The cream itself does not change your skin colour in either direction. What can darken the area is irritation — inflamed skin often leaves a temporary brown mark afterwards, and that happens more readily on deeper skin tones. Avoiding the irritation is the only way to avoid the mark.

Does it reduce hair growth over time?

No, and we would rather say so than repeat what is on the box. The follicle sits well below where any cream reaches, so nothing applied to the surface changes how much hair you grow. Regrowth can feel softer because the tip is rounded rather than cut flat.
