• Stearic and myristic acid lead the blend: Both make a creamy, lower-foaming wash. Lauric acid, the harsh one, sits fifth rather than first.
• Decyl glucoside is second on the list: A sugar-derived surfactant that cleans gently and takes some of the load off the soap underneath it.
• Glycerin and propylene glycol stay behind: Both are humectants that survive the rinse, which is what stops the tight feeling afterwards.
• Polyquaternium-7 conditions as it rinses: The same class of ingredient used in hair conditioner, here softening how the skin feels after washing.
• Niacinamide is low down in the formula: In a rinse-off it has seconds of contact, so treat it as a bonus, not a reason.

Stearic acid and palmitic acid: The creamy fatty acids. They make a dense, low, stable foam and are the gentlest two on the list.

Myristic acid: Third overall. It foams more than stearic and less than lauric, and it is the reason this lathers at all.

Lauric acid: The strong one, and here it is fifth. In a bar it is often first, which is why bars strip.

Potassium hydroxide: It turns those fatty acids into soap inside the tube, which also makes the finished wash alkaline, like a bar.

Glycol distearate: The pearly shimmer in the tube. It does nothing for your skin and is there purely for how the product looks.

Iodopropynyl butylcarbamate: A preservative, alongside DMDM hydantoin. Both are effective and both are known contact sensitisers for a minority of people.

Two preservatives, perfume and colour. That combination makes this a face wash for dry skin but not a face wash for dry sensitive skin, and those are different things. Sensitive skin routines covers the difference.

Is a soap-based wash wrong for dry skin?

Not automatically. What matters is the fatty acid blend and what else is in there to soften it. A wash built on lauric acid with nothing else will strip anyone. This one leads with stearic and myristic, adds decyl glucoside and keeps glycerin in the formula, which changes the outcome considerably.

Will it help with dark spots?

Barely, and we would rather be straight about it. Niacinamide is twelfth on the list and this is a rinse-off, so contact time is measured in seconds. Fading marks and pigmentation needs a leave-on product. A wash cannot do that work no matter what is in it.

My skin is dry and sensitive — is this right for me?

Dry and sensitive are not the same thing and this page is careful about that. There is perfume, colour and two preservatives here, including one that is a recognised contact sensitiser. If your skin reacts easily, this is not the wash in our range to try first.

Why does it not foam much?

Because of the fatty acid ratio. Big, airy lather comes mostly from lauric acid, which is also the one that strips. Stearic and palmitic give a denser, lower foam. Less lather is a sign of a milder wash, not a weaker one — the cleaning is the same.

Can I use it if I also use the Gold Plus cream?

Yes, and that is the intended pairing. Wash in the evening, then apply the cream on the nights you use it. Just do not scrub before an acid cream — clean skin absorbs more, and freshly scrubbed skin absorbs more than you want.

How long does a 60ml tube last?

Around six to eight weeks at once daily, or a month at twice daily. A pea-sized amount is genuinely enough; most people use two or three times what they need and get through a tube in half the time without cleaning any better.

Is it suitable for men?

Yes, and the texture suits post-shave skin better than a bar does. Shaving already removes surface cells, so a milder wash matters more than most men expect. Avoid washing immediately after shaving — give it an hour if you can, and moisturise while the skin is still damp.

Does it remove makeup?

Light makeup, yes. Long-wear foundation or waterproof mascara, no. Soap-based washes do not dissolve silicone or wax-heavy makeup, and scrubbing at it will irritate your eyes long before it works. The Cleanser Cream handles that better, used as a first step with this as the second.
