What is body lotion, and how is it different from a cream?
Both are oil and water emulsions. A lotion holds more water and less wax, so it is thinner, spreads much further and absorbs faster. A cream holds more of the thickeners and stays where it is put. Lotion for large areas, cream for small rough ones — that is most of the difference, and the rest of our body lotions splits along the same line.
What is body lotion used for beyond dryness?
Three things at once. It slows water leaving the skin, it smooths the surface so light reflects evenly, and it carries whatever active ingredients the formula contains to a very large area. This bottle uses that third job to deliver kojic acid, alpha arbutin, glutathione and vitamin B3 below the neck.
How do you use body lotion so the tone ingredients actually work?
Apply it on damp skin, use more than you think, and cover the same areas every single day. Under-application is the reason most body routines fail — the actives never reach a useful amount per square centimetre. Consistency across three months matters more than anything else you can change.
Does it contain vitamin C?
No. There is no ascorbic acid or ascorbyl derivative anywhere in this formula. The tone ingredients here are kojic acid, alpha arbutin, glutathione and vitamin B3, which is niacinamide. If vitamin C specifically is what you are after, our vitamin C ampoule is the place to look rather than this bottle.
Why is my face responding faster than my arms?
Facial skin is thinner, turns over more quickly and receives far more product per square centimetre than an arm ever does. Add clothing friction and the fact that most people apply body lotion less carefully, and a face runs weeks ahead of a forearm on the same ingredients. Dark patches on the body are simply a longer project.
Can I use it on my hands during the day?
Yes, and hands are the best argument for the bottle. They get the most sun and the most washing, and they are usually treated last. Keep it where you wash and reapply each time — hand skin loses whatever you put on it faster than anywhere else.
Is it safe on skin that itches or flakes?
Use caution. The base is genuinely good on flaking skin, but this is a fragranced lotion and fragrance is the most common cause of itch on already-irritated skin. If itching is your main problem rather than tone, choose an unscented moisturiser and keep this for unbroken areas.
Should I use this or the matching 225gm cream?
The lotion for everyday coverage, and the thicker Yusma jar for rough patches. The lotion carries more tone ingredients and reaches more skin; the cream stays put on elbows, knees and knuckles. Using both is not overkill, it is choosing the right texture for each area.
