Is this the Beauty Cream in a bottle?
No, and the ingredient lists make that plain. The jar contains kojic acid dipalmitate, alpha arbutin, glutathione, licorice, mulberry, ascorbyl glucoside and niacinamide. This lotion contains niacinamide. Both are good at what they do, but they are not the same product at different sizes.
How long does a bottle of moisturizer last?
Daily full-body use empties a 400ml bottle in roughly eight to ten weeks. Face and neck only, a 100ml lasts about the same. Once opened, most lotions are formulated for twelve months of use, so finishing it well inside that is not difficult.
Will it lighten my skin?
Not in the way the category name suggests. Niacinamide will gradually even out patchiness over a couple of months, and well-moisturised skin reflects light better so it looks brighter. Neither of those is skin lightening, and no body lotion should promise it.
Can I use it on my face?
Yes, thinly, and better on dry skin than oily. It is petrolatum-heavy, which suits a face that feels tight in air conditioning and does not suit a face that shines by midday. If you are unsure, try it on your neck for a week first.
Why does my skin still feel dry an hour later?
Almost always because it went on dry skin. With no humectant in the formula, there is nothing to draw water up from below — it can only hold in what is already there. Applied to towel-damp skin, the same lotion behaves completely differently.
Does the titanium dioxide protect me from the sun?
No. There is no SPF rating on this product and it has not been tested as a sunscreen. The titanium dioxide is there to make the lotion white. Anything you read about mineral filters applies to tested sunscreens, not to an opacifier in a moisturiser.
Which size makes sense for me?
The 400ml if you are moisturising after every shower — it works out cheapest per millilitre and you will get through it. The 200ml for face, neck and arms. The 100ml only for travel, or to find out whether the fragrance and richness suit you.
Is it greasy?
It is rich, and on a hot day it stays on the surface longer than a light lotion would. Give it five minutes before dressing. If you want something that disappears instantly, this is the wrong formula — that finish is inseparable from the barrier it builds.
