Shea butter and cocoa butter: Both high on the cream’s list and both absent from the standalone jar. They are why this cream feels calmer.
Octadecenedioic acid: A tone ingredient despite the name — it does not exfoliate. It works on pigment through a different route from arbutin or kojic.
Octinoxate. A chemical UV filter: Present, but with no tested SPF on the pack it cannot be treated as sun protection on its own.
Ozokerite wax, pola wax and span 60: The structure of the cream. They hold an oil-and-water mixture together and set how thickly it sits.
The vitamin E capsule: A single-use oil capsule, best on dry patches rather than the whole face. Pure vitamin E is heavy on most skin.
Hydrolyzed silk in the soap: A protein that deposits lightly during washing, which is why this bar feels smoother than a plain soap.
Every one of the four items is a different formula from its standalone namesake. If you buy the box and then buy refills, expect them to behave differently. The standalone cream page explains the acid version.
