Search cream remove scars and you get stretch mark products. They are not the same injury. A scar is disorganised collagen near the surface; a stretch mark is a tear deeper down, and depth decides everything.

Description

No cream remove scars claim survives contact with dermatology, including ours. What this jar can reach is the colour of a mark — the brown or red that makes it visible — through retinol, azelaic acid, salicylic acid and niacinamide. The texture is a different problem.

Benefits

  • Colour first, texture barely: Four ingredients here work on how dark a mark looks. None rebuilds the collagen underneath it.
  • Retinol is the strongest thing in it: It speeds surface turnover and nudges collagen over months. It also rules some people out entirely.
  • Rub it in properly: A massage cream for stretch marks works partly through the massage; two minutes of pressure beats a quick smear.
  • Twenty-three grams is a small-area jar: Enough for a face, or one patch of body. It is not a whole-abdomen product.
  • Honest about what creams for stretch marks do: They soften how a mark looks. Nothing sold over a counter closes a dermal tear.

Ingredients

Twenty-four ingredients, two of which are supplier trade names rather than INCI, and one of which decides whether you can use this at all.

Retinol — Do not use a retinol cream for stretch marks while pregnant or breastfeeding. Ask your doctor first. This is the ingredient that matters most here.

Azelaic Acid — Often the one active recommended when retinol is off the table, including during pregnancy. It works on redness and pigment slowly.

Hyaluronic Acid — A hyaluronic acid cream for stretch marks plumps the surface for a few hours. It does not reach the tear that made the mark.

Dark Out and AHA OG — Two supplier trade codes on one label. With retinol and three acids already in the jar, unnamed extras are the last thing you want.

Vitamin Beads — Coloured spheres that dissolve as you rub. They look like technology and they are mostly a texture and a talking point.

Retinol, salicylic acid, lactic acid and azelaic acid are all in this one jar, with no strengths printed on the pack. That is a great deal at once. Start twice a week on a small area, never on broken or freshly waxed skin, and stop for a few days if it flakes. If you are pregnant, trying, or breastfeeding, this is not the jar for you — ask a pharmacist what is.

How To Use

  1. Patch test on the inside of your forearm for two nights before you put it anywhere visible.
  2. Clean, dry skin. Nights only.
  3. Twice a week for the first fortnight, and on one small area rather than everywhere at once.
  4. Massage it in for a minute or two instead of smearing it on.
  5. Build up to alternate nights only if there has been no flaking or stinging.
  6. Sunscreen every morning on any area you have treated.
  7. Never on the same night as another acid or retinol product.

FAQs

What cream to use for stretch marks, honestly?

One you will apply daily for months, on marks that are still new. Consistency and massage matter more than which jar you buy. Retinoids have the best evidence and are unavailable to anyone pregnant or breastfeeding, which is most of the people looking. Everything else, including this, works on how the mark looks rather than what it is.

I am trying for a baby. Should I stop using this?

Talk to your doctor, and lean towards stopping. Topical retinol is generally advised against in pregnancy, and most guidance suggests stopping before conception rather than after a positive test. This is a decision for a clinician who knows your history, not for a product page — but you should know the ingredient is in here.

Will it remove a scar completely?

No. A scar is collagen that healed in the wrong arrangement, and nothing applied to the surface reorganises it. What can change is how visible it is — brown or red discolouration fades, and the edge softens. A raised or indented scar keeps its shape. For that you would need a dermatologist and a procedure.

Does it work on old surgical or acne scars?

On the colour, sometimes. On the shape, no. Old surgical scars are usually pale and flat already, so there is little pigment left to work on. Acne marks are often not scars at all — they are flat brown patches, and those genuinely do fade with the ingredients in here.

Why are there four actives in one jar?

Because the formula is built to cover several routes at once: retinol for turnover, salicylic acid for the pore, lactic acid for the surface and azelaic acid for pigment and redness. It is a reasonable idea and it makes the cream stronger than it looks. It also makes going slowly essential.

What are ‘Dark Out’ and ‘AHA OG’?

Supplier trade names, not INCI names, which means the actual ingredients behind them cannot be identified from the label. We have flagged both to the manufacturer. In a jar that already contains a retinoid and three acids, unidentifiable extras are worth knowing about before you buy.

How will I know it is working?

Photograph the area under the same light, at the same time of day, once a month. Marks fade too slowly to see day to day, which is why most people conclude nothing is happening and stop at week six. Colour changes are usually visible by month two or three.

What should I do if my skin flakes?

Stop for three or four nights and let it settle, then restart at half the frequency. Flaking means the retinol and acids are working faster than your barrier can keep up. Moisturise plainly on the off nights. If redness comes with it, or it stings after every application, stop altogether.
