Yusma Moisturizing Body Wash 400ml

• Four cleansers, layered on purpose: A strong base softened by three milder partners, which is how a moisture body wash for dry skin avoids squeakiness.

Nineteen ingredients. The interesting ones are not the ones on the front of the bottle.

Sodium cocoyl glycinate — A cleanser built on glycine, one of the amino acids in skin. It works at a milder pH than the sulphate above it.

PEG-18 glyceryl cocoate — A refatting agent. Its whole job is to be left behind when the water goes, which is where the moisturizing actually comes from.

Linalool and limonene — Two fragrance components, declared separately because law requires it. Between them they are the commonest cause of a reaction to a scented wash.

Aloe barbadensis leaf juice — Fourteenth on the list, and water-soluble in a product designed to be rinsed off. Present, and doing less than the name suggests.

One honest limitation. A wash cannot moisturise the way a lotion can, because it is on your skin for under a minute. What it can do is take less away than a harsh one, and this base does that well. If your skin is genuinely dry, the bottle you use afterwards matters far more. And if you react to perfume, this is not your wash — the fragrance load here is real.

1. Use on wet skin, in a warm shower rather than a hot one.
2.  A small amount on a cloth or puff goes further than a handful straight from the bottle.
3.  Work over the body, spending longer where skin is rough and less time on the chest and back if you break out there.
4.  Rinse fully. Left-behind wash is a common cause of itching that gets blamed on dryness.
5.  Pat dry and moisturise within three minutes, while skin is still damp.
6. Once a day is enough in this climate. Twice is where dryness usually starts.

What is the best shower gel for dry skin?

The one you rinse off fastest, honestly. Every wash removes some of your skin’s own oil, and the gap between products is smaller than the gap between a five-minute hot shower and a two-minute warm one. Do the real work with what you apply afterwards.

Is this a good shower gel for dry skin?

It is a reasonable one. The sulphate base is softened by three milder cleansers and there is a refatting agent in the middle of the list, so it finishes softer than a basic gel. It is not a soap-free or fragrance-free wash, so if your dryness comes with itching or eczema, something plainer will serve you better.

Where does the aloe actually sit?

Fourteenth of nineteen, after the glycerin and before the salt. It is genuinely in there, but a rinse-off gives any water-soluble ingredient very little chance to stay behind. Buy this for the cleansing base and the scent — the aloe is a nice-to-have near the bottom.

Is it a moisturizing body wash for men?

There is nothing gendered in it. The scents are floral and fresh rather than the dark, woody notes most men’s ranges use, so it comes down to whether you like the smell. The formula itself suits anyone whose skin feels tight after washing, which in an air-conditioned Gulf summer is most people.

Can I use it on my face?

You can, but there is little reason to. It is built for a large area of relatively thick skin and it is properly fragranced, neither of which is what facial skin wants. If you have run out, use it once and follow with a moisturiser. As a habit, use a face wash.

Will it help with body acne on my back?

Not directly — there is no salicylic acid, no benzoyl peroxide and nothing else in it that unblocks a pore. What it will do is clean without stripping, which stops the rebound oiliness that follows a harsh wash. For active back and chest breakouts you need a treatment product, not a body wash.

Can I use it as a hand wash?

How long does a 400ml bottle last?

Two to three months for one person showering daily, using a cloth. Straight from the bottle into a palm, closer to six weeks — most of the difference is how much you dispense, not how much you need. Sharing a bottle between two people, plan on monthly.
